Varsity Coach- Coach Bogart
Coach Bogart enters his tenth season as head coach in the 2009-2010 campaign.Coach Bogart attended both Stafford
and Tonganoxie High School where he played varsity basketball for three years. He went on to the University of Kansas to
earn his bachelor's degree in education with a major in English. He has taught English in the De Soto School District
for fourteen years. Coach Bogart completed his master's degree in administration at Baker University in 2001. Coach Bogart
is in his fifteenth year of coaching high school basketball for De Soto/Mill Valley. He was the freshman coach at De Soto
High School for one year. He served as the junior varsity coach at De Soto High School in 1996 and held that position until
the 2000-2001 school year when he was promoted to head coach of Mill Valley High School.
Junior Varsity Coach- Coach King
Coach King returns for his second season on the Mill Valley basketball staff. He previously spent two seasons as the head girls' basketball coach at
Wyandotte High School. Before coaching at Wyandotte, Coach King spent four years as a varsity assistant for the Shawnee Mission East boys' basketball
program. In his time at S.M. East, he helped guide the Lancers to the the 6A state title game in 2006 and coached two Sunflower League players of
the year. Coach King attended Shawnee Mission South High School where he was an all-league player in both football and basketball. He continued his
basketball career at Allen County Community College before earning his degree in business administration from Kansas State University. He later returned
to K-State to earn his degree in education and currently teachers business and computer courses at Mill Valley High School.
Freshman A Team- Coach Shelly
Coach Shelly is in his first season as Freshman 'B' team coach. Coach Shelly coached 7th grade and 8th grade boys' basketball teams in the Kansas City, Kansas, school district
for six years at Coronado Middle School, becoming head 8th grade coach during the 1991-1992 season. With a change in teaching assignments, Coach Shelly became an assistant
librarian at Sumner Academy in the KCK district, and spent two years as an 8th grade girl's basketball coach while at Sumner. During the 1995-96 school year Coach Shelly
became the high school librarian at De Soto High School and was an assistant boys' basketball coach at Monticello Trails Middle School for five years.
